Two of the most successful outfits of the last 5 years have been hiddenDestinationsjHellSubtitle. Perhaps it should come as no surprise that the Pokémon Company released a set bearing the namebrilliant travel destinations. As far as modern settings go, Shining Fates is a pretty tough hitter. Interestingly, Shining Pokemon aren't the only cards to appear on the list of the 10 Most Expensive Pokemon Cards for Shining Fates. Can you guess what other card type is on the list? If you've read our other posts, you probably can! Let's take a look at the most expensive Shining Fates Pokémon cards and see what makes this set so great.

#10. Shiny Cinderace Holo Raro - SV017/SV122
Something that sets Shining Fates apart from other modern sets is the reintroduction of the regular Shiny Holo Pokémon cards. While ultra-rare (and better) cards are where modern sets are most popular, interest in holo rare cards still exists, and many people still prefer that old-school design.
The Pokemon Company is bringing Shiny Holo Rare Pokemon cards back to the trading card game in a nod to collectors who prefer simple holo designs. Shining Fates features several Pokémon from the Galar region, such as Shiny Holo Rares, as well as some Pokémon from previous generations.
Shiny Holo RareCinderace SV017/SV122 is currently valued at around $10.50 at the time of writing.
#9. Brilliant Rare Leaf Hole - SV003/SV122
Decidueye has a great dual type combination of Ghost and Grass. Decidueye was introduced in Generation 7 as the final evolution of Rowlet, Grass Flying's starter Pokémon.
Decidueye is described in Pokédex entries as being able to plant and fire an arrow at an enemy in a split second, with such precision that it can pierce through boulders 100 yards away. It should be noted that Pokédex entries can be a little... overkill.
The Shiny Holo RareDecidueye SV002/SV122 is currently priced at around $11.50 at the time of writing this article.
#8th. Shiny Ditto VMAX Ultra Rare - SV119/SV122
Considered by many to be the #1 Royal Pursuit card in the set, the Pokemon Shiny Ditto VMAX card is #8 on our list of the top 10 most expensive cards for Shining Fates. This board features the brilliant Dynamax version of Ditto, a fan favorite since the first generation.
When Shining Fates was first released and the cards initially ended up on eBay, this card was fetching around $60 or $70 because there was so much demand for it in the beginning. In fact, we're surprised to see him so low on this list and wonder if he might climb back up the rankings in the future.
Shiny Ditto VMAXUltra Rare SV119/SV122 is currently worth around $12 at the time of writing this article.
Given how Cinderace appeared on this list, it's perhaps not surprising that another Generation 8 starter Pokémon makes an appearance: Inteleon is the final evolved form of Sobble, the Water-type starter Pokémon.
Interestingly, Rillaboom (the early evolution of the Grass-type) doesn't make the Shining Fates top 10 most expensive cards list. It goes all the way up to number 20, which we think is a huge injustice. #GrookyGang stands for.
Shiny Holo Rare Inteleon SV027/SV122 is currently priced around $13 at the time of writing.
#6. Shiny Galarian Rapidash Holo Rare – SV048/SV122
Immediately. In #6 we have another familiar face from Generation 1. To be honest, Galarian Rapidash might look a bit different than you remember. This is because the Galarian forms of Rapidash and Ponyta got a new version in Generation 8.
These Galar forms have received mixed reactions from the fanbase, but the final verdict seems supportive as these cards have done very well over the past few sets to find value. The Galarian Rapidash alternate art in the newest set, Chilling Reign, performed particularly well, costing around $40 at press time. Check back soon to get a price assessment for this set as it will be one of the books.
Shiny Holo Rare Galarian Rapidash SV048/SV122 is currently priced around $13.50 at press time.
#5. Brilhante Eternatus VMAX Gold - SV122/SV122
And if you're tired of Shiny Holo Rare Pokemon cards appearing on this list, I've got good news for you. At #5 on this list is the Legendary 8th Generation Pokémon Eternatus, which features on a shiny gold VMAX card.
Pokemon has recently been experimenting with its gold-style cards, and this black and gold design is a fresh introduction to the TCG. While it can be quite difficult to spot the Pokemon on the card, to say these cards look impressive in person is an understatement.
ShinyGoldEternatus VMAXSV122/SV122 is currently priced around $14 at press time.
#4. Galarian Ponita Hollow Rare Brilliant - SV047/SV122
Just like Galarian Rapidash previously appeared at #1, Galarian Ponyta appears at #1 on this list at #6. Tip #4. If you really like Ponyta's Gen 1 skin, you might have trouble liking Galar's skin since she does Completely overhauled the color scheme and turned Ponyta into a psychic type.
Some Pokemon enthusiasts will tell you that this Galar design looks like it came straight out of My Little Pony and not Pokemon. Despite differing opinions on the card's aesthetics, it's not surprising that this card is currently taking a premium.
Shiny Holo RarePonyta SV047/SV122 is currently priced around $16 at the time of writing.
#3. Full Art Skyla Ultra Rare - 072/072
Given that Full Art cards have seen a recent surge in popularity among collectors, it's a bit of a surprise that Skyla is the only Full Art trainer card to make the Shining Fates 10 Most Expensive Pokémon Cards list has. From day one of its release, this full art trainer has won an award and set itself apart from the rest of the regular Shining Fates cards.
Shining Fates is actually divided into 2 sets: one is the standard set with a total of 73 cards (72 plus a secret rarity) and the subset (called Shiny Vault) with 122 shiny cards. Skyla is the only card from the Shining Fates standard set to make this list. Every other card on this list is brilliant.
Full Art Skyla Ultra Rare72/72 is currently valued at around $21 at the time of writing.
#2. Shiny Suicune Holo Raro - SV022/SV122
Shiny Holo Rare Suicune is number 2 on the list of most expensive Pokémon Shining Fates cards. Suicune was introduced in Generation 2 as one of the three legendary beasts revived by Ho-Oh. Suicune is a Water-type Pokémon and appeared on the cover of Pokémon Crystal.
The 3 legendary beasts (Entei, Suicune, and Raikou) tend to fetch premium prices when they appear on maps. It's no surprise that a legendary Gen 2 fan favorite is one of the most expensive cards in Shining Fates.
The Shiny Holo Rare SuicuneSV022/SV122 is currently priced at around $31 at the time of writing this article.
#1. Shiny Charizard VMAX Ultra Rare – SV107/SV122
If you didn't see this coming, you probably didn't know Charizard was on that set. Whenever Charizard appears in a set, it guarantees a top spot price-wise, and since this is onehelle vmaxCharizard, you can imagine he's a pretty tough hitter.
The other popular Shiny Charizard cards are from Hidden Fates and Champion's Path. However, Shining Fates Charizard is special as it is the only ShiningVmaxCharizard to this day. This comes right after Champion's Path's release of the VMAX Rainbow Secret Rare Charizard, which was a huge success. It could have been Rainbow and VMAX but it wasn't brilliant!
It's worth noting that Shining Fates had a large circulation, so the ticket prices compared to previous games are cheaper than you might expect. We tend to think that Shining Fates is a great modern game to hunt down at the moment while the prices are relatively affordable!
Currently, the ShinyCharizard VMAX SV107/SV122 costs around $177 at press time. We are not convinced that this price will last!
