Description
Situated in a remote part of southwestern Turkey, Sagalassos' isolated location has allowed it to remain a hidden gem. An important city for both Alexander the Great and Ancient Rome, discover this remarkably well-preserved archaeological site with the added bonus of a photo stop at Lake Karacaören and a visit to the Burdur Museum.
On this private tour, head north through the Turkish countryside, starting at one of the world's largest archaeological sites. But first, stop to admire the almost Instagram-worthy Karacaören Lake - Turkey's best spot.
Upon arrival in Sagalassos, you will enjoy a guided tour of the impressive ruins on top of the mountain. Surrounded by ruined columns, villas, temples and major attractions such as the city center and the Hellenistic Theatre, it feels like you are reading the pages of a history book. After lunch, a walking tour of nearby Burdur and a visit to the town museum will reveal even more about the region's past.

Phaselis in Tahtali Dagtrip Gorge
“This tour is full of mythology,” says Muzzafer, one of our guides. "Alexander the Great had already spent the winter in the ancient city of Phaselis while the gods and goddesses looked down from the top of Olympus and wished they were in his place." It's a tall order, but this tour does what it promises. You will learn the history of Phaselis and enjoy a fantastic panoramic view while riding the Olympos Air Tram. There is still plenty of time to visit some of Antalya's more remote beaches and enjoy lunch on top of the mountain. First, you will visit the ancient Greco-Roman city of Phaselis. It extends over a forest area and three small bays on the coast of Lycia. Here you will find impressive remains from the classical period. Hadrian's Gate, the theater and the aqueduct are among the highlights of the tour. Stroll among the ruins of former shops and along the main street. Since there is still time to visit the beach, pack your swimsuit. All this is surrounded by the Bey Mountains National Park in the distance - your next destination. Ride through the clouds to the top of Mount Olympus, also known as Mount Tahtali, on one of the longest zip lines in the world - it is over 4 km long. At the 2,365m summit, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the 360-degree panoramic views from the viewing platforms - just like the ancient gods and goddesses used to do. To complete this amazing experience, enjoy lunch overlooking the spectacular scenery.

Visiting the old city of Antalya with the Karpuzkaldiran waterfall
The Karpuzkaldiran waterfall cascading from the cliffs into the Mediterranean Sea is a sight worth seeing. This is an appetizer before heading to Antalya Old Town for a walking tour and some free time. Derya, one of our local guides, says: "A place I always visit, I recommend the Bazaar, a great place to enjoy the local culture while looking for souvenirs. The busy alleys are full of traditional Turkish handicrafts such as ceramics, textiles and jewelry, but also loose tea, spices and plenty of clothes and accessories.” After taking photos at the waterfall, drive to Antalya Old Town, also known as Kaleici. After an hour-long guided tour of the maze of narrow streets lined with traditional Ottoman-style houses, you'll have free time to explore on your own. The area is rich in history and culture, and there are some remarkable sights worth seeing. Hadrian's Gate is an ancient Roman fortress built in honor of Emperor Hadrian, who visited the city in 130 AD. The 13th-century Yivli Minaret Mosque is a prime example of Seljuk architecture and features the iconic red brick minaret. Enjoy a lunch of typical Turkish dishes such as gozleme, savory stuffed sweets, and doner kebabs. For dessert, try baklava, a sweet pastry made with layers of dough and honey. Your experience will be complemented by spectacular sea views from the harbor, which is home to many seaside restaurants.
