Lucifer's Crisis on Infinite Earths cameo explained
The working relationship between Lucifer and Constantine was confirmed inthe bombingEpisode that acted as part 3 of the Arrowverse crossover eventcrisis on infinite earths. In the episode, Constantine made a journey from Earth-1 to Lucifer's country (Earth-666) with Mia Smoak (Katherine McNamara) and John Diggle (David Ramsey) in tow so Constantine could get help finding the lost soul of Constantine for Oliver Queen. (Stephen Amell). The next scene, in which Constantine and the two heroes confront Lucifer in front of his nightclub, confirms this.Lucifer was part of the Arrowverse. Although he clearly found Constantine repulsive and was not pleased to see him in his land, the guardian of hell prided himself on always honoring his bargains and grudgingly admitted that "I owe you the maze." This line is said to have been added to the script bythe bombingWriter Lauren Right, but no explanation has ever been given as to what Constantine did to trick the devil into giving him his due.
Why didn't Konstantin Maze open a portal to hell?
A popular fan theory was that Constantine opened a portal to Hell, allowing Maze to travel to Earth. Logically, that made sense since demons were in the world.Luciferthey were not allowed to leave Hell and could only manifest on Earth by possessing a recently deceased human body. WithLuciferafter Maze was discovered to be on Earth in her own body and Constantine was shown to be able to travel between Earth and HellLegends of Tomorrow Staffel 4That seemed like a likely assumption.
This theory, while valid, was directly refuted by the events of theLuciferSeason 3 Flashback Episode "City of Angels?" who discussed the details of how Mazikeen came to earth. After Lucifer's brother Amenadiel was stolen by his necklace and the wrath of God asked Lucifer for help, Lucifer "went down again" to Hell and brought Mazikeen to Earth so that Hell's best torturer could help them interrogate a suspect. While it was thought that Lucifer may have left out the details of how he brought Mazikeen to Earth, several scenes resulted duringLucifer season 6it showed that Lucifer was more than capable of transporting himself and another person between dimensions. Given that, there was no reason for Lucifer to travel to another land and fall into Constantine's debt for a job he could do himself with far less effort, especially when Lucifer was also shown to be capable of opening portals between realms. during this timeCrisis on Infinite Earths.

What can Constantine do that Lucifer can't?
With the possibility of Constantine being recruited as the eliminated Celestial Uber, it begs the question of what Constantine could do that the devil couldn't. This is a remarkably limited list as Lucifer is arguably the most powerful being on earth from him other than his father, God himself. However, for allPowers and abilities that Lucifer hasas Archangel and Guardian of Hell, despite his rebellious nature, he is still limited in his actions.
The ban on demonic travel to Earth is an excellent example of how Lucifer's powers are concentrated and how angels and demons are restricted by God's decrees. Even when the demons of Hell began to rebel against Lucifer's rule and conspired to make Amenadiel's son Charlie the new King of Hell, they were still bound by the law that only allowed them to come to earth with corpses. This indicates that it was God's will, not Lucifer's, that imprisoned the demons in hell.
Lucifer Season 6 Introduced New Rules For The Damned On Earth
LuciferSeason 6 introduced another first that suggested why the demons might be operating through corpses rather than directly manifesting on Earth: they may not have a physical presence on Earth. Dan Espinoza, theHe sadly died in Lucifer season 5, was taken to HelllandLuciferSeason 6 and was soon revealed to be an intangible spirit that was completely invisible to all but angels. The same may be true of anyone assigned to Hell, whether mortal or demon. Indeed, the fact that Dan was later able to possess another man's body suggests that there may be little effective difference between a demon and a mortal on Earth.
Theory: Constantine's magic allows Maze to stay on Earth
If there's one thing Constantine is famous for, it's using his magic to defy the rules while spitting in the face of all authorities. So that seems likelywith his powers, Constantinehe may have found a way to circumvent God's will and found a way for Maze to remain on earth in solid form. Even if demons are tangible on Earth 666, since there is currently no evidence that they act in the same way as human souls, Maze would still require some sort of work to keep them on Earth despite God's law, after that she has finished her help.Luciferwith what was nominally official sacred business.
